A tribute that touched my heart. Nine days before our Waseda symposium, my dear friend Prof. Kazushi Yamamoto reached his half-century — what Confucius called 知命 (chi-mei), the year of knowing one’s heavenly mandate. Waseda simpoziumidan to’qqiz kun oldin aziz do’stim professor Kazushi Yamamoto yarim asrlik yubileyini nishonladi — Konfutsiy 知命 (chi-mei), ya’ni “samoviy taqdirni anglash yili” deb atagan davr. Bu sanani gullar, “Lun Yu” jildi va birodarlik so’zlari bilan nishonlash sharafiga muyassar bo’ldim. Keyingi yarim asr yanada mazmunli bo’lsin.
